Tim Griffiths Experiential Therapies

My Story Get In Touch

Therapy Services In Wallasey

Taking the first step toward therapy takes courage, I know, because I’ve been there too.

My name is Tim, and I’m a BACP-registered counsellor and psychotherapist based in Wallasey. Years ago, I sat where you might be sitting now: uncertain, yet hopeful that change was possible. That decision to seek support didn’t just help me, it reshaped my entire understanding of what it means to heal, grow, and reclaim agency in life.

I specialise in collaborative, person-centred therapy, which means I won’t “fix” you, because you’re not broken. Instead, I’ll walk beside you as we:

  • Untangle overwhelming thoughts or feelings

  • Develop tools to navigate life’s challenges with resilience

  • Build a safe space where you feel heard, without judgment

Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, grief, relationships, or simply feeling “stuck,” therapy can be a place to breathe deeply and rediscover your strength.

About Me

Prior to beginning my professional training in psychotherapy, my journey began through self study of psychology, psychotherapy and self-help out of necessity; I was harbouring a PTSD of daily paranoia and panic attacks that had brought me to a place of hopelessness and suicidal ideation. Although learning more about how my body was responding to life was helpful, it was entering therapy that was the catalyst for a healing journey that continues to this day.

My Approach

I believe that most of our pains and challenges in this life arise from an injurious experience in relationship; whether that be with our parents during childhood; friendship betrayals; romantic relationship challenges; to deeply traumatic and life altering experiences. As such, entering a therapy that is relational first and foremost offers opportunity for these wounds to present themselves within a culture of trust and safety. In other words – I will work to show up for you; holding a space with presence, openness, compassion, non-judgement, and a commitment to deep listening, to help you in noticing how your body is responding to the world around you. Though your experience may manifest as anxiety, depression, PTSD, hopelessness, fear, anger, loneliness, neurodiversity or so on, I welcome all of you.

How I Work?

I am trained to university degree level in experiential counselling & psychotherapy. The modalities that inform my practice are the person centred approach, existential therapy and emotion focussed therapy. Outside of my therapy practice, I am a trained and recognised (IPHM) transpersonal space holder and men’s work facilitator for Embodied Masculine™; I also work alongside world leading facilitators in the Tantric and Shamanic healing modalities. My experience with professional psychotherapy, esoteric healing modalities, and my personal journey of life culminate in a diverse approach to therapy, and a commitment to work with you to identify your next step.

What to Expect From Our First Session?

It’s a big step to begin the therapy journey, never mind beginning to share experiences close to your heart. Aside from some practicalities around our journey together, our first session will be getting to know each other in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, for me to learn more about your journey and what brings you to therapy. This is a space for you too, to ask questions about me, should you have them. We may discuss how life is for you, or what your vision is for the future (or even that you struggle to see one). I carry no expectations of you for our first meeting, so I invite you to come as you are.

Who I Work With?

Since I began holding space, I have worked with people across a diversity of backgrounds and life experiences; from adolescents of age 16 up to elders in the final stages of their life. I work closely with young men from 16 and upwards to navigate their transition to manhood and develop a personal and embodied understanding of their own masculinity. I also work with women, within multiple contexts, to assist them in considering and deepening their relationship to the ‘masculine’, or to men. I have experience working with people who present with ADHD, autism, aspeger’s, depression, anxiety, PTSD (and varying clinical diagnoses), grief, bereavement, masculinity difficulty, femininity difficulty, relationship struggles, loneliness, anger management, psychedelic integration, purposelessness, spiritual awakenings and more. Through a free consultation, lets have a chat to see if I can help.
