My Story
Prior to beginning my professional training in psychotherapy, my journey began through self study of psychology, psychotherapy and self-help out of necessity; I was harbouring a PTSD of daily paranoia and panic attacks that had brought me to a place of hopelessness and suicidal ideation. Although learning more about how my body was responding to life was helpful, it was entering therapy that was the catalyst for a healing journey that continues to this day. To name but a few modalities, my personal journey includes therapy, group work, plant medicine and psychedelics, dedicated men’s work, embodiment, energetic healing, committed spiritual practice, breath work, meditation, Tantra, existential philosophy, and more. I am a co-founder and co-leader of a growing men’s community in Merseyside called Mersey Men, for whom I hold and offer free and ticketed gatherings and events for men to connect, introspect, and deepen their connection to themselves and their purpose. More generally, my life is nourished by playing guitar, shooting street photography, writing poetry, travelling in my van, building deep and meaningful relationships in my life, and continuing to satiate my curiosity around the human condition.
My Approach
I believe many of the difficulties we face in life are shaped by our experiences in relationships. Whether through childhood, family dynamics, betrayal, romantic relationships, or deeply traumatic experiences, these moments can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, others, and the man we wish to become.
Therapy offers an opportunity to explore these experiences within a relationship built on trust, honesty, and mutual respect. My commitment is to meet you with presence, openness, and compassion, creating a space where you can speak freely, explore difficult emotions, and begin to understand the patterns that may be holding you back.
Together, we will work to deepen your understanding of yourself, develop practical tools to navigate life’s challenges, and strengthen your capacity to meet difficult emotions and experiences with greater awareness, resilience, and confidence.
Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, loneliness, or a sense of being lost, you do not need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. You are welcome to arrive exactly as you are.
How I Work?
I am trained to university degree level in experiential counselling & psychotherapy. The modalities that inform my practice are the person centred approach, existential therapy and emotion focussed therapy. Outside of my therapy practice, I am a trained and recognised (IPHM) transpersonal space holder and men’s work facilitator for Embodied Masculine™; I also work alongside world leading facilitators in the Tantric and Shamanic healing modalities. My experience with professional psychotherapy, esoteric healing modalities, and my personal journey of life culminate in a diverse approach to therapy, and a commitment to work with you to identify your next step.
What to Expect From Our First Session?
It’s a big step to begin the therapy journey, never mind beginning to share experiences close to your heart. Aside from some practicalities around our journey together, our first session will be getting to know each other in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, for me to learn more about your journey and what brings you to therapy. This is a space for you too, to ask questions about me, should you have them. We may discuss how life is for you, or what your vision is for the future (or even that you struggle to see one). I carry no expectations of you for our first meeting, so I invite you to come as you are.
Who I Work With?
Since I began holding space, I have worked with people across a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences; from adolescents aged 14 through to those in the later stages of life.
I work closely with young men as they navigate their transition into adulthood, supporting them to develop a grounded, embodied understanding of themselves and their place in the world.
Alongside this, I work with individuals of all genders in a therapeutic context, supporting clients with a broad range of emotional, psychological, and relational challenges. This includes experiences such as ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, psychosis, PTSD, grief and bereavement, relationship difficulties, loneliness, anger, questions of purpose, and periods of significant personal or spiritual change.
Through a free consultation, we can explore whether this way of working feels aligned for you.
